If you attempted to watch last Thursday’s (Feb 13th) live stream of Train Man, sadly the live stream was down due to a technical problem with San Antonio’s Public Access servers. This did not affect …
Can an Otaku (Nerd) ever find love? Based on a (relatively) true story in Japan. Densha Otoko is the story of Yamada Tsuyoshi a young otaku who gathers the courage to defend a young beautiful …
Tonight’s episode confirmed that things are back on track with scheduling. Thank you to those working at TVSA. I decided to do a “soft-reset” of Saber J to X. We will restart with episode 16 …
This is EXTREMELY frustrating for us and for our viewers who are watching. Current TVSA management (since Frank Burn’s passing) has not been very communicative with us in properly scheduling our episodic shows to our …
Due to the passing of Frank Burns, there was a TV scheduling error that occurred in the past two weeks. Episode 21 of Saber J to X was aired on October 12th while on October …
This is a proof of concept of a scrolling lower third title in an AMV. While the concept was awesome at the time, to continue the concept proved to be very time consuming for each video as each title had to be custom tailored to each video which is why it was only done for the Best in Season 3 AMV’s which was only used in Episode 1 of Pre-Season 5.
In this video we have Jesse Lopez who was head of AFTV Show Operations at the time, and Keri Bean, the Con-Chair of San Japan in the beginning. The topic, during the turn of 2006 the city of San Antonio had lost its public access, government, and educational channels with Time Warner Cable. Then Mayor Phil Hardberger and city council members agreed to finance and operate the public access channel. In turn, both AFTV and San Japan agreed to give free passes to all the city council members and the mayor for brining back public access. It wasn’t till a few weeks after this video was finalized that things started to deteriorate with internal politics and several events that happened internally with the San Japan group that we decided not to air this during a city council meeting and also ending our relationship with San Japan at the time.
This month marks our 10 Year anniversary. It feels like it was just yesterday that I started AFTV as a hobby, now we host several AMV contests and have had such a wonderful experience by going to conventions and being apart of not just Japanese Anime fandom but other growing fandoms as well. Since our beginning we have been getting more diverse as Anime since the early 2000’s has been on the decline as far as being shown on TV, and more American original animations and also online animations have been getting much more unique and more popular in recent years. That is why AFTV and other high profile people are bringing Southwest Animation & Gaming Expo in 2015 to San Antonio. If AFTV was the beginning, eventually SWAG Expo will be the future. I’m not saying that AFTV will be leaving anytime soon but SWAG Expo is eventually the next chapter in AFTV’s life.
We do have special footage that was recorded just for an occasion as this. A lot of the footage from previous events and special Q&A from our past cast members from the beginning of AFTV that we will post here for all to see. We of course have new TV episodes in the pipeline. So don’t fret. AFTV is still alive and kicking ass.
As you all know I am personally at Furry Fiesta helping out in the A/V department, if you would like to know first hand what happens at a Furry con check out their channel. I will be personally handling one of the camera’s in the channel.
February 22-24, I will be at Texas Furry Fiesta helping out with the main events a/v staff. Also in the upcoming weeks we should have some info for the PMV Contest for Brony Fan Fair 2013.
“Where in the hell are the new episodes of AFTV?!?”
With all the new projects surrounding AFTV such at SWAG Expo and AMV Contests it’s hard to say. With all honestly I do need to put new shows up and I do have the footage to put new shows on air but Life gets in the way.
We finally got our website stable now. The server may come and go from time to time as we continue to get things ready for Southwest Animation & Gaming Expo!
Sorry for the long delay, but I had some medical issues to deal with over the weekend, but all that aside. Time for Peoples Choice!
I will have to say it was very hard to distinguish the results but I think the results will be good. The results are from audio recordings of the peoples reaction after each AMV, based on how loud and how long of applause.
